Ashtech – Walkin’ TargetLabel: Interchill Records : Sub Signal |
About this Album
Walkin’ Target is written by bassist/producer Ashtech and the acclaimed dub alchemist Gaudi. Produced by Gaudi at his Metatron Studio in London, their album is at the intersection of original dub styles and urban electronica – with an emphasis on live sound manipulations and high-end engineering. With Ashtech’s fat basslines laying down deep, dub-wise grooves and Gaudi’s solid production trademark imprinted throughout, this roots laiden album includes 4 tracks featuring the inimitable vocal stylings by Cheshire Cat from the legendary production outfit Leftfield. The album draws its name from the title track which tells the story of the ‘walkin’ target’ – of a mother who lost her child and did not have the time to say goodbye. This track, in the finest roots-reggae tradition, speaks to the oppressed, suffering and defenceless people of the world, the victims of a system that makes ‘everyone a walkin’ target’.

Various Artists – Devil in the DetailLabel: Interchill Records |
About this Album
‘Devil In The Detail’ is the latest downtempo breaks and bass compilation from Interchill Records. With a heavy dose of chunk, crunch and glitched out textures, this album presents a diverse range of IDM-inspired tunes from producers in the US, UK, Holland, Switzerland and Israel.
Compiled by UK-based label DJ/webmaster/graphic designer Nick Edell, this fresh collection of tracks opens a new horizon in the Interchill multiverse with a focus on clear minimalism and hyper-refined sounds. Emphasizing the growing glitch scene emerging on the West Coast of North America, ‘Devil In The Detail’ brings together a complimentary selection of tunes from this intriguing musical aesthetic. From the delicate and atmospheric spaces of Faction, Tripglitch (aka Tripswitch) and Legiac, to the rumbling bass and beats of Gaudi, Tipper, Ooah and Vibesquad, the compilation is all about the detail – leaving much to the imagination while revealing the fact that there’s more to the psychedelic world of downtempo electronica than first meets the eye.

About this Album
Interchill Records is back with another bass-heavy artist album, this time courtesy of Liquid Stranger. ‘The Invisible Conquest’ is the next chapter in Interchill’s dub travelogue composed by Swedish born Martin Staaf – also known as one half of the former Scandinavian techno/progressive project Necton. With tracks on previous Interchill compilations like ‘Earth Octave Lounge Vol. 2’, ‘Dissolving Clouds’ and ‘Bliminal’, Liquid Stranger brings his unique atmospheric flavour to the new skool dubtronica genre via melodic bass lines, percussive grooves, tribal accents and minimal psychedelic overlays. Strongly referencing the foundations of traditional dub while adding a new spin that is all his own, Liquid Stranger takes the listener on a mesmerizing downtempo journey into the world of sound, rhythm and vision.
